Reports have surfaced indicating the next Xbox will be hitting shelves this time next year. Bloomberg has reported that the next Xbox will be released holiday 2013, validating many rumors that suggested the next console from Microsoft was coming in 2013.
The Xbox 360 is growing long in the tooth, and a new console will help revitalize the video game industry. Features of the new system are rumored to include Blu-ray support, a new touchscreen controller similar to the Wii U GamePad, and most likely be released at a price point similar to the new Wii U. The Wii U came in at an affordable $300 – $350, causing demand to surge.
The current Xbox has been very popular since the console was released, selling over 70 million units since it came out in 2005. Expect more information on the next Xbox over the next few months.
