NEW KINDLE FIRE HD BRINGS THE HEAT
Amazon has carved out a solid niche with it’s successful line of Kindle tablets. With the new Kindle Fire HD, it’s looking to further enhance its position in the tablet market, and the specs of the device are impressive. While there might be rumors of an Apple iPad-Mini, the Kindle Fire HD is a reality that will be available on November 20th, 2012. Based on the specs, it’s a product many people will be interested in. Here are some of the noteworthy features of the Kindle Fire HD:
- Screen size: 8.9 inches diagonally
- Screen resolution: 1920 by 1200 pixels
- Weight: 1.25 pounds.
- Cameras: Front-facing camera.
- Battery life: Undisclosed.
- Operating system: Modified version of Google’s Android
The price point of the Kindle Fire HD is impressive, considering it’s impressive list of features from screen size to resolution. Whereas Apple is looking to go smaller with the iPad-Mini, Amazon is taking the opposite approach, bolstering the screen size and resolution from the original Kindle Fire, which came in at 7 inch diagonally and 1024 x 600 pixels. Given the popularity of the original Kindle Fire, it’s likely the HD will be an extremely sought-after gift this holiday season.
